Trojan Classroom Furniture is a Canadian manufacturer of safe, durable and fun furnishings for daycares, kindergartens and primary classroom settings. We manufacture commercial quality products for professional learning environments.

Since 1984, demand for Trojan furniture has continually grown. In 2018, the company relocated to a larger, more modern production facility in Peterborough, Ontario, with enhanced manufacturing and storage capacity.

Trojan Classroom Furniture (div. Percheron Plastic Inc.) is looking for a full time position on its manufacturing team. This opportunity is subject to an employment contract and adherence to the company policy manual.

HOURS
Regular Monday to Friday shifts: 8:00am to 4:30pm (8hrs/day , 40hrs /wk).

The individual must be available for overtime and weekend shifts when necessary. During peak season (June-August) the individual must be willing and able to increase and modify their work shifts to accommodate increased production demand.

POSITION
The position is geared towards an individual with 2-3 years of woodworking experience. At a minimum, the individuals should have experience with one or more pieces of equipment listed below:

  • Panel Saw
  • CNC
  • Spray Booth

This individual should be looking to thrive in a manufacturing environment. Our ideal candidate would be a team player, hard working, punctual, able to thrive under pressure, show initiative, and have attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Spray Booth Operator

  • Set-up and manage Paint Booth for daily use.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of the Paint Booth.
  • Sand and clean pieces, correct defects and prepare surfaces for assembly.
  • Quality control of pieces coming into and out of the Paint Booth (Size, Quality and Quantity)
  • Follow and execute the daily / weekly production plan, record its output and hand it in to the production supervisor.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Handy with hand operated tools (drill, sander, etc.)
  • Operate equipment such as panel saws, table saws, chop saws, drill press etc. to perform tasks required to meet production schedule
  • Sand and clean objects or parts to correct defects and prepare surfaces for further finishing, using various hand and power tools
  • Assemble pieces by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts, and sub-assemblies
  • Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products
  • Prepare, record and sort documents for data entry.
  • Other duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • CSA certified footwear
  • Able to lift up to 60lbs on a regular basis
  • Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Remuneration: $19 - $26 per hour

  • Manage offcuts and have the ability to do manual cuts to improve cutting efficiency.
  • Quality control of pieces coming off of the Panel Saw (Size, Quality and Quantity)
  • Follow and execute the daily / weekly production plan, record its output and hand it in to the production supervisor.
